The industry standard for replacing VRLA batteries in an existing UPS is every 3-5 years. Many UPS can be upgraded to lithium. A few advantages can be: longer battery life (10 years +), the ability to run higher temperatures in the environment (reduce cooling costs), and standard integrated battery monitoring.
